University of Maryland University College (UMUC) now holds undergraduate classes at the Coast Guard Yard at Curtis Bay in Baltimore for active-duty Coast Guard servicemembers and Coast Guard civilians. This site is on a military installation.

Directions
From the South:
Take I-95 North toward Baltimore, take exit 49A to merge onto I-695 East toward Glen Burnie. Take Exit 1 for State Hwy. 172/Hawkins Pt. Rd toward Pennington Ave./Ft. Smallwood Rd. Turn right at Quarantine Rd. Turn right at Hawkins Point Rd./MD-173. Coast Guard Yard at Curtis Bay will be on your left.
From the North:
Take I-95 South. Slight left at I-895 South, look for signs for I-895 S/Annapolis. Take Exit 8A for Shell Rd. Merge onto Frankfurst Ave., slight right at Shell Rd. Turn right at E Patapsco Ave. Turn left at MD-173/Pennington Ave. Coast Guard Yard at Curtis Bay will be on your right.

Library Services
At the Academic Center at Largo, UMUC librarians are available Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Room 1105. UMUC staff members are also available during selected hours at McKeldin Library on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. At either location, you can access the online catalog of the University System of Maryland (USM), more than 100 databases (over 50 of which provide full text journal and newspaper articles) and tutorials on how to do research. Security and Civilian Waiver Information
If you do not have a military ID, call 301-621-9882 for information on base entry. Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permitting UMUC to provide personal information (i.e., Social Security number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration.
