A UMUC representative maintains office hours at Henderson Hall in Virginia to support students taking classes online or at other UMUC locations. This site is located on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access. In some instances, a FERPA waiver form may be required.

Directions and Parking

Take 395 South to Exit 8 (Pentagon South Parking, Washington Boulevard, Ridge Road). Stay in right lane, and exit right onto 27 to 244 (Washington Boulevard, Columbia Pike). Stay in the right lane, and take the exit for 244 East Columbia Pike, Navy Annex. From the exit ramp, turn right onto Columbia Pike. Go one block, and make a left onto South Orme Street. At the end of South Orme Street, make a left onto Southgate Road and into Gate 1. The UMUC office is in the Lifelong Learning Education Center, Building 29, Room 204.

Testing Services

This location offers the following types of testing services for members of the military and the civilian community with base access:

  • Placement testing for writing and math courses on a walk-in basis.
  • Proctoring services for non-UMUC students.

Security and Civilian Waiver

If you do not have a military ID, call 301-621-9882 or 410-551-0431 for information on base entry. Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permitting UMUC to provide personal information (i.e., Social Security number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration. You may find the FERPA waiver form online.
