Classes and Services
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers student services and hybrid courses at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Stone Education Center in Washington State. This site is located on a military installation. Please call this location to receive information on base access.
***Note: Classes at JBLM are limited to federal employees and their dependents.
UMUC is pleased to offer hybrid courses in the following curriculum areas (as well as some courses that satisfy electives and general education requirements):

Take I-5 toward Main Fort to exit 120. Classes and services are located at the David L. Stone Education Center. Students and visitors may park in the lot that is next to the Stone Education Center. The UMUC office is located on the main floor in office B-147. Call 253-212-2399 to verify hours or request additional information.
Advisors are available for walk-in sessions during all standard hours at UMUC's JBLM office. Scheduled appointments are also available during all standard hours. We recommend scheduling an appointment if possible, but please do not hesitate to stop by at any time we are open. Call 253-212-2399 for an advising appointment. Students must be able to access the base to meet with an advisor on-site at JBLM. Appointments are available via phone and e-mail for students without access to JBLM.
UMUC students have daytime access to a computer lab on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The standard hours of the computer lab are Monday–Thursday from 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Please call 253-212-2399 to confirm computer lab hours and access requirements.
Security and Access
If you do not have a military ID, call 253-212-2399 for information on base entry. UMUC staff would be happy to assist you with general questions regarding base access. You can also contact the base directly for more information.
Due to recent conditions of heightened security, civilian students taking UMUC classes on military bases may be required to complete a waiver in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act permitting UMUC to provide personal information (such as Social Security Number, address, and telephone number) to the military administration. You may find the FERPA waiver form online.
