UMUC and UMBC Join Forces to Provide Certificate in E-Learning and Instructional System Design

Adelphi, Md.  (July 15, 2008) – UMUC today announced a new joint graduate-level certificate in E-Learning and Instructional System Design in cooperation with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). The certificate provides students with knowledge and skills in the field of course design, development and delivery at a distance, with a focus on e-learning.

“We are excited to partner with UMBC to create a program that addresses the changing trends and professional opportunities in distance education,” said Dr. Susan C. Aldridge, president of University of Maryland University College. “This partnership demonstrates UMUC’s continuing commitment to leading the way in the development and evolution of online education.”

The joint certificate program is being launched in response to growing interest in the field of e-learning and distance education, and couples UMUC’s expertise in distance education and technology with UMBC’s background in instructional design and course development.  *** can't add more text ***
