Winners Named in UMUC Military Challenge, a Race Within the National Triathlon

UMUC congratulates Kyle Hooker for finishing first in the Military Challenge race in Washington, D.C.

ADELPHI, MD. (Sept. 23, 2008) –UMUC is pleased to congratulate Kyle Hooker for winning the university’s Military Challenge competition in Washington, D.C. on September 14, 2008.  More than 500 servicemembers competed with each other in the first-ever Military Challenge, a race within the Nation’s Triathlon.

Following Hooker, second and third place winners of the Military Challenge were Kenneth Corigliano and Tyler Sharp, respectively. Among female competitors, Samantha Bird, Amy Alexander and Tiffany Hill placed first, second and third, respectively. Competitors in the triathlon ran, swam and biked throughout Washington, D.C., passing by historical landmarks including the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial.
