Tigers Softball and Dragon Boat Racing are Back

Join a Team Today

April 20, 2012

The Office of Diversity Initiatives is pleased to bring you two great ways to get in shape this year while getting to know fellow UMUC students, staff and faculty.

The UMUC Tigers, UMUC's co-ed slow-pitch softball team, will again be competing in the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) softball league. The Tigers season begins May 10, 2012. For more information, visit the Tigers page.

The Virtual Dragons, UMUC's dragon boat racing team, is looking for new members who want to get some exercise, meet new friends and enjoy great competition in the Washington D.C. Dragon Boat Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20, 2012. Practices start in April, so join today. For more information, visit the Virtual Dragons page.

Please e-mail diversity-initiatives@umuc.edu if you are interested in joining either team this season.

Please note that participation in these activities is voluntary and at your own risk. It is not part of your work duties at UMUC. Volunteers for the Tigers and Virtual Dragons will be required to sign a waiver and release of liability form.
