Washington Post Magazine Education Issue Cover

University of Maryland University College made the cover of The Washington Post Magazine's recent education issue. Why? Because of our amazing students and our commitment to real-world education.

The article, which focuses on cyber security programs, follows the UMUC Cyber Padawans at the Cyber Maryland Challenge. The student team competed neck-and-neck with cyber security experts from around the region in the hope of winning a $30,000 prize.

The article describes UMUC Cybersecurity programs as "answering a call from military and business leaders for a new generation of specialists to provide vital public and private computer systems."

Noting the university's non-traditional roots, the Post reports, "The school aims to serve adults wherever they are in life [… including] career switchers, corporate climbers, military families, [and] community college graduates."
