Richard F. Blewitt
After a successful career heading the premier niche issue and crisis management firm Rowan & Blewitt, Richard Blewitt and several of his former colleagues formed R&B Associates, an organization that supports leading corporations.
Rowan & Blewitt's projects included helping Exxon after the Valdez oil spill, supporting American Airlines following the attacks of September 11, 2011, assisting Household Finance with the sub-prime lending controversy, working with state officials across the United States, and counseling the Ford Motor Company during the Firestone Tire issue. Rowan & Blewitt has served more than 30 of the Fortune 100 companies. Now, the team at R&B Associates utilizes its powerful global network of colleagues to assist corporations in similar ways.
Much of Blewitt's professional experience centers on leading efforts to solve and prevent problems for corporations, usually dealing with litigation, government, media, and interest group scrutiny. This includes counseling and coaching of CEOs and other top management.
In addition to serving as a member of the Board of Visitors of University of Maryland University College (UMUC), he has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Josephson Institute of Ethics and has served as chair of both boards. Blewitt also served on the University System of Maryland Foundation's Board of Directors and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Parks and Conservation Association.
