Jason Reed is vice president of Technology at UMUC where he oversees all technology infrastructure and platforms including academic solutions, ERP, and CRM. He joined UMUC in 2012 as the assistant vice president of Software Development and has since expanded his purview to include all aspects of the SDLC and enterprise technology operations.
Mr. Reed joined UMUC from MedImmune, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where he served as the director of Solution Architecture and Infrastructure Engineering. In this role, he designed and implemented solutions with specific focus on service oriented architecture frameworks and cloud computing. Prior to MedImmune, Mr. Reed served as the managing director of the Consumer and Commercial Products consulting practice at Acumen Solutions. He led the practice from inception in 2006 into a $9-million technology consulting business unit. Mr. Reed consulted for Fortune 1000 customers including Sprint/Nextel, AT&T, Qwest, AOL, Pfizer, SunTrust, Fannie Mae, and Citibank.
Mr. Reed is an honors graduate of The George Washington University School of Business in Washington, D.C., serves on the Board of Advisors for Careerstone, LLC, was a founding board member of The School for Ethics & Global Leadership in Washington where he served as treasurer and member of the Planning Committee, responsible for long term strategy and sustainability. He is currently the governance chair for the Board of Trustees at For Love of Children, a D.C.-based nonprofit that provides educational services beyond the classroom to help students succeed from first grade through college.
