Nancy Williamson, JD
Nancy Williamson is senior vice president and general counsel in University of Maryland University College's Office of Legal Affairs. She has been in the Office of Legal Affairs at UMUC since December 1999, serving as the university counsel, deputy general counsel and as acting vice president and general counsel.
Ms. Williamson's legal career has focused on higher education. Prior to joining UMUC, Ms. Williamson was a staff attorney at Johns Hopkins University and a claims attorney at United Educators Risk Retention Group. In addition, Ms. Williamson is an adjunct faculty member at UMUC where she has taught legal ethics, advanced legal research, employment law for business, principles and strategies of successful learning, and negotiation strategies.
Ms. Williamson earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore and her bachelor's degree in political science from American University. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
