These individuals are being recognized for their exceptional service and dedication to this university and its students. Each exemplifies the extraordinary leadership, unwavering commitment, and service excellence that have always been the hallmarks of UMUC’s success.

This year, the Presidential Awards were revamped, and a new process for nominating colleagues was introduced, based on the university’s core values. The number of awards was also expanded from three to six, with at least one award reserved for each geographic division. A committee that included staff and collegiate faculty representatives from UMUC Stateside, Europe, and Asia selected the recipients, who will receive both a monetary award and a decorative plaque.

The awards will be presented at the 2012 Service and Achievement Awards ceremony, scheduled for Monday, December 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Martin’s Crosswinds. The ceremony will also be recorded and available on the intranet, allowing our overseas employees to join in celebrating our many faculty and staff achievements.

In the meantime, please join me in congratulating our distinguished Presidential Award recipients.

Sincerely,

Javier Miyares
President
