SPEAKER BIO
Jeanne Fahnestock is a professor in the Department of English, University of Maryland College Park. She is the author of Rhetorical Figures in Science (1999/2002) and co-author of A Rhetoric of Argument (3rd edition, 2004). She has published articles and contributed chapters on rhetorical theory, argument, language analysis, and the rhetoric of science. She served on the Board of Directors of the Rhetoric Society of America and was co-organizer of its conference in 2000. She has directed the Professional Writing Program and the combined University Writing Programs at University of Maryland College Park.
