UMUC-TV is the educational television programming service of University of Maryland University College for students, faculty, staff, and the general public. The cable channel reaches approximately 400,000 households in Maryland's DC metropolitan area on Channel 18 in Montgomery County and Channel 73 in Prince George's County.

Launched in 1989, UMUC-TV provides the local Maryland community with easy access to programs related to UMUC coursework and general audience programming. The channel reaches approximately 215,000 households in Montgomery County and 177,000 households in Prince George's County.

UMUC-TV regularly airs programs on healthcare, aging, diversity, public policy, media criticism, new technologies, the arts, psychology, and small business. Our programming supports and enhances UMUC's courses in Literature, Writing, Computer Science, General Science, the Humanities, and Business Management programs. In addition, for the 28,000 Hispanic and Latino households that receive UMUC-TV, we broadcast 52 episodes of the program Destinos, a Spanish-language soap opera of everyday situations, introducing the cultures, accents, and dialects of Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Puerto Rico.

The station also functions as an outlet for UMUC-produced public affairs and cultural programming. Locally produced programs include those on UMUC events and speakers. UMUC-TV also showcases artists represented in the Maryland Artist Collection, which resides at UMUC.
