What's Happening at UMUC

UMUC Heads Down Under to Build New Partnerships

An arrangement with a university in Australia is the first in what UMUC hopes is a new wave of international partnerships to offer our courses to students abroad, expanding student enrollment and building our brand's global prestige. UMUC's arrangement with Deakin University in Victoria is mutually beneficial. One of Australia's largest and highest rated universities gets new course offerings to attract prospective students and help fill that country's cybersecurity talent gap, while UMUC opens up a new market.

UMUC has a long history of international partnership programs reaching back to the Cold War–era, but this is the first time the university has offered cybersecurity courses to an international partner. And the International Programs staff have already lined up their next opportunity: a pending agreement with a distance-learning consortium in Africa that could open up 38 colleges and universities for individual partnerships with UMUC.
