Email Assistance: How Do I Access Generic Email Account?
Your Exchange account was migrated to the new UMUC Gmail account but your department also uses a generic account. While all UMUC Exchange accounts are getting migrated, there will be a "co-existence" period between Exchange and UMUC Gmail.
|Please make sure Outlook is not running.|
Windows XP: Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Windows 7: Go to Start > Control Panel.
|Click on Mail icon.|
|Click on the Show Profiles button.|
|Click on the radio button to select Prompt for a profile to be used.|
Then select the Add button.
|Type your department's email Generic Account Name in the Profile name field.|
|Choose Manually configure server settings or additional server types and then click Next button.|
|Choose Microsoft Exchange and click Next button.|
|Under Add New Account tab, fill the fields with the below information:|
Username: Your department's Generic account Name - the one you are setting up to access
Then click Check Name button.
|Once the account is found and in bold, click the Finish button.|
