Parchment: Issue - I Received a Blank Transcript Document on my Mac Computer
Official Transcripts distributed by UMUC through Parchment are certified with a digital signature and other security features. In order to view the secured document, you must have Adobe Reader or Acrobat installed on your system.
The following provides information to assist with viewing your official transcripts using Adobe as the default application.
After receiving and opening your certified transcript document, you encounter a blank page on your Mac computer
The Mac OS has a built-in PDF viewer (Preview.app) that will allow for viewing of most PDF files; however, it will not allow you to open and view the Parchment transcript since it is a certified PDF document.
Verify that you have Adobe Reader or Acrobat installed on your Mac. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed, you can download a free copy from the Adobe website: http://get.adobe.com/reader
Once you have confirmed that you have Adobe Reader installed:
You will now be able to open and view your certified Transcript document.
Note: If you initially opened the downloaded transcript document before installing the Adobe Reader software, you will not be able to view it in Adobe, you will need to download a new copy of the transcript using the delivery e-mail provided by Parchment, in order for it to open in Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
