Graduate School Noncredit Course: UCSP 615 - What is Orientation to Graduate Studies at UMUC?

The noncredit course UCSP 615 - Orientation to Graduate Studies at UMUC is required within the first 6 credits of study for most, but not all, graduate programs. Please contact an advisor or reference the Master's Degrees webpage to view the courses required for your program.

Students can complete UCSP 615 after being admitted to the University. 

This five-week course is an overview of the skills needed for academic and professional success with a focus on enhancing communication and critical thinking skills. Assignments provide familiarity with tools such as social media and library and information resources. APA style and resources are also addressed.

At the successful conclusion of the course, a grade of S (Satisfactory) or U (Unsatisfactory) is posted; the mark of I (Incomplete) is not an option.
