Question: I am a member of the Maryland National Guard. I have a tuition payment plan and my account states that I have a zero balance. I don't know what I should do with my tuition payment because I was approved for the MD Army National Guard fifty percent (50%) tuition waiver.
To get the 50 percent tuition waiver, you must submit the tuition waiver form (signed by your commander) via Help Center.
Click here for instructions on how to submit documents via the University of Maryland University College online assistance site.
You can also contact the Third Party Military team as follows:
Please note the following:
You'll need to submit proof of service, enlistment contract, or a Tuition Assistance (TA) form with ETS listed or Leave and Earnings Statement with ETS or EAS.
You must specify the term you would like the waiver to be applied to.
Waiver forms must be provided by your commander; the University of Maryland University College does not have waiver forms.
Once the waiver is applied, you can call tuition pay to adjust your outstanding balance.
If you are receiving Tuition Assistance (TA) through the GoArmyEd portal in addition to your State Tuition Waiver Letter, you should note that tuition assistance funds will not be credited back into the GoArmyEd Portal until the end of the course. Once credited, please allow 10-14 days for the appropriate adjustments to be made in the GoArmyEd Portal.
The University of Maryland University College does not honor the State Tuition Waiver letters for graduate students; only undergraduate students are eligible to receive the tuition discount.
