Generally, the VA releases funds 14 days prior to the start of the class. In most cases, funds will post to your account two to four weeks after a class begins.
Students utilizing the Post 9/11 GI Bill have a hold placed on their account to prevent disenrollment (being dropped from class for non-payment) after submitting a Request for Certification for the term. If you do not submit a Request for Certification for the term, you may be disenrolled.
To submit a Request for Certification via MyUMUC:
- Log in to MyUMUC
- Go to Veteran Certification
- Select the semester you wish to certify
- Click Complete Request Form
- Complete and click Submit Request
The percentage of your tuition covered by the US Department of Veterans Affairs is based on your percentage of eligibility for Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. You can find this information on your Certificate of Eligibility or by signing into your account at www.vets.gov.
