Full-Text Searching on Library OneSearch
The UMUC Library's OneSearch on the library homepage now defaults to full-text searching. This allows students to more quickly and easily locate relevant articles and other library resources without the inconvenience of also retrieving citation-only records.
Students who need the more comprehensive search can still uncheck the full-text only checkbox, and also access the individual research databases directly via the Databases by Title (A-Z) link. Articles not available in full text can still be requested through DocumentExpress.
In addition, we've also made improvements to the functionality and scope of OneSearch, including the addition of six open access indexes that provide access to over 96 million full-text articles and other documents. Visit Open Access (SPARC) for more about open access and why it's critical to 21st century research and scholarship.
We'll be continuously improving OneSearch based on data analysis and feedback from students, and we welcome your input. Contact the Library at firstname.lastname@example.org or via the Chat with a Librarian service on the library site.
