Raymond Jenkins – 2012-14 Student Advisory Council Representative, Europe


Raymond JenkinsRaymond Jenkins was born in Houston, Texas, and spent his early years in Crosby, Texas. As a teen, he moved with his mother to Germany, where he attended the Hauptschule for two years and became fluent in German. Jenkins continues to reside in Germany and currently works as a recreational assistant for a bowling facility in Schweinfurt in addition to working as a military civilian employee. Although he started his academic career at University of Maryland University College in 2009 as a psychology major, he recognized the desperate need for security in the IT field and switched his academic focus. Jenkins is now pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.

In 2012 Jenkins was inducted into the UMUC chapter of the international honor society for the computing and information disciplines, Upsilon Pi Epsilon. Jenkins is in his final year of academic coursework and is pursuing the following industry certifications:

  • Security+
  • Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH)

Jenkins is fully committed to his role as a volunteer leader at UMUC. He believes the university provides programs that help students achieve their academic and career goals.
